What we do

We publish three things: tested beach gear recommendations, coastal travel guides for destinations worth the flight, and printable packing systems that make a beach day feel effortless. Our readers are in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, so every recommendation is checked for availability in all four markets.

How we test

Coolers get 48-hour ice-melt tests in full sun. Umbrellas are staked in loose sand and measured against sustained wind. Towels are weighed wet and re-weighed after shade drying. Sunscreens are checked against reef regulations in Hawaii, Australia and Mexico. Anything that fails simply doesn't appear on the site.

How we make money

Beach Essential Hub earns commission through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and a small number of other affiliate programs. Commission never changes a ranking, and brands cannot pay for placement. If a cheaper product wins, the cheaper product goes first.
